Flying:

By air – To Chambery and Grenoble. There are regular services from many UK airports especially during the ski season. Also, Lyon, St Etienne and Geneva.

Chambery is about 1 hour away.
Grenoble is about 2 hours away
Lyon is approximately 3 hours away
Geneva is approx 4 hours away.

During the ski season there are regular bus services from all to Aime.

Snowjet no longer operate from London Gatwick to Chambery. However, there are a couple of charter flight companies that they used to get their tickets from :

FlyBE fly from Southampton to Chambery Airport or Lyon.
EasyJet fly to Grenoble(GNB) Lyon(LYS) (& Geneva GVA).

From Chambery airport
take the bus to Aime. Check the time table here.

Bus from Aime station

6.20€ per person (one way) NB: Possibly the same for 2014... awaiting confirmation.
From Aime to Montalbert - there is sometimes a day bus service between Aime and Montalbert.
But a Taxi is around €32/35. (€10 pr person) and often many waiting at the Bus Station or phone:

Car hire. Car hire is available at most airports and may be your cheapest option - Easycar may be the easiest!
Make sure they give you snow chains - they are a legal requirement and sometimes needed and breathalysers (x2)
